The Texas Smokehouse

Dreaming of Texas-style beef brisket, homemade sausages, pork ribs, or smoked chicken wings? How about a ‘Texas Twinkie’ – a super-sized twist on jalapeño poppers, stuffed with cream cheese, smoked chopped brisket, and wrapped in bacon? Those are just some of the stand-out dishes heading to Jolly, courtesy of The Texas Smokehouse. Sensational sides include corn bread, fried okra, smoked baked beans, and smoked mac and cheese.

The secret behind the unique taste of an authentic smokehouse is cooking “low and slow”, says co-owner and Executive Chef Mike ‘Chilli’ Chilvers. “Meats exclusively imported from the US will spend up to 16 hours in the smoker. The food won’t be fast; it will be worth the wait”, he adds.

The fun-packed eatery with 16-seat bar will be adjacent to co-owners Danny and Lucia Valente’s other restaurant, Los Cabrones Mexi Resto & Tequila Bar in the new Commercial Village.

The Texas Smokehouse – managed by Danny’s cousin Tommaso Depace – will feature a first-of-its-kind Tito’s Iced Tea Bar. Built around a lineup of house-brewed flavoured iced teas, they can be enjoyed ice-cold on their own or spiked with Tito’s Handmade Vodka for a refreshing kick on a hot day.

Both the Smokehouse and Los Cabrones will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Even better, they will soon be offering door-to-door delivery to homes across the harbour.
